The acrid smell of melting plastic never really bothered Sofia. It was a unique aroma that made her Argentinian workshop stand out. Her fingers twisted around a cracked water bottle, a relic she had used during yesterday’s hike til it surrendered with a defeated crunch.

She tossed it into the composter with a practiced flick, and it suddenly joined the pile of takeaway tubs and stubborn blister packs. She threw a layer of wood shavings on top to combat the initial stench and then her offering was complete. This daily ritual was her personal act of quiet rebellion against the plastic littering her beloved Patagonia.
