THE ALPHABET STREETS: THE SECRET GARDEN OF THE SOUTH
The Alphabet Streets of New Mannahatta run from Aster and Zinnia and are the city’s quietest cross-streets, forcing you to rethink what it means to be a city. The brownstones look historic but are actually carbon-negative with genetically enhanced trees to provide extra shade during those hot summer months.
We spent a whole weekend wandering from Birch to Hemlock in search of the best micro-bakeries hidden on the ground floors.

Kevin launched the bike rental app in split-screen on his phone. It started pulling his account information in the bottom window. The top window was the riddle app, which had a simple interface consisting of green text on a bird’s eye map.
I am an island no more, bridged by stone and rail.
“That’s governor’s island,” Kevin announced as he unlocked a bike and threw a leg around it. “The landfill project merged the northern tip to the new peninsula. The G-train extension tunnels right through the bedroom underneath. That’s literally stone and rail.”
