A quick update on this Substack

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything here. I will be changing that soon. I think the format I was aiming for made it difficult and cumbersome to tell stories.

I had been aiming to write a monthly serialized novel effectively. I think that was a bad idea as it limited the types of stories I could write.

But I still think it’s useful to use science-fiction and storytelling to tell stories about what kinds of futures we may see. I just need to write smaller stories, disconnected from any sort of grand narrative.

I have been writing a lot since last year, spending most of my time in epic fantasy and self-publishing several novels. That work will continue, but I do want an outlet for this kind of short storytelling.

Going forward I’ll be publishing periodically, whenever I come up with an idea. I’ve gotten into using MidJourney to generate images.

I’ve turned off payments since I don’t want to guarantee anything for readers. But I hope you enjoy what will be written.
