Projected in the middle of the boardroom was a hologram of Earth, with two moons in orbit. There was the familiar one: a grey sphere covered in craters, and a shimmering, iridescent newcomer.
"Luna Nova," declared Abagail Markle, the CEO, with a beaming voice. "And the tagline is just perfect: 'Two Moons, Twice the Wonder. NeoShine is illuminating the future.'"
The head of marketing, Kaneko Teiljo, shifted uncomfortably in his seat across the polished obsidian table.
"Abagail, I say this with all due respect. I think "wonder" might be optimistic. Our focus groups have shown significant anxiety about this, about altering the tides, nocturnal animal behavior. Not to mention the sheer weirdness of a second moon."
"Anxiety is just a marketing opportunity, Kaneko," Markle retorted with a bright smile. "We can frame it as awe. Awe and progress. We're giving them two moons. Two lunar cycles. Imagine the poetic possibilities! The romantic getaways! The 'NovaLuna Glow' beauty products."
