Maya and Kenji entered their new townhouse, so fresh they could still smell the fresh paint and polished wood in the air. Moving to Willow Creek had been a whirlwind — both of them loved the vibrant urban energy but craved a bit more space for the family they dreamed of. As both were physicians at the city hospital, they never needed much space and were used to spending long hours away from home. Now they had a chance to slow down and get to relax.

“What do you think about turning this alcove into a reading nook?” Maya walked around the sunlight-drenched living room with ideas sprawling out of her head. Before the move, they’d had a lot of visions of what their new home could be.

Kenji chuckled as a game of cricket played out on a screen. “Sounds lovely, but maybe we should prioritize eating something that wasn’t delivered in a pizza box.”

Just then their smart speaker chimed. “Maya and Kenji, your home assistants have arrived.”
